Following on from the previous translation of chapter 1 and 2 which you can find here: ‘Breath of Life’
3:1 Behold the kind of love the Father has for us – that we are called His offspring. That’s why this world order does not recognise us, it did not recognise Him.
2 Beloved, now we are the offspring of God. It is not clear to the world who we are or where all this is heading, but we know! When reality breaks through, our likeness to Him will be made obvious, and He will be seen just as He is.
3 All who have this confidence in them, purify themselves even as He is pure.
4 Whoever continues to sin, continues to transgress the law, for sin is the transgression of the law.
5 This we know, that His appearance removed sin and brought about a reality in which sin has no real existence … this is the reality in Him.
6 Remain in His reality, and you won’t sin … falling into a lesser reality. Whoever sins has lost sight of Him, they do not understand Him or the implications of who He is.
7 Precious ones, don’t wonder out of this reality. Let your innocence inspire your actions. That demonstrates that you are righteous even as He is righteous.

8 Being trapped in continually cycle of sin, has its origin in believing false accusations. That which opposes the reality in Him, is the source of continually missing the mark. Sin is opposing reality. This opposition has no real existence, it only exists in its opposition to reality.
(diabolos-false accusation, from ‘opponent’ and ‘accuse’. To sin, is to believe and act in accordance with this false accusation.)
For this very purpose the Son of God revealed His reality, to show the futility of that which apposes it, thereby dissolving its effect.

9 Everything born of God and proceeding from Him, cannot continue to appose Him for His seed is more enduring than the opposition. God is not the source of that which appose Him.

10 In this it is obvious what proceeds from God and what proceeds from that which apposes Him. Acting contrary to your innocence, does not originate in God, neither is anything that would cause you to be unloving to those who have the same origin as you.

11 This is most important and the conclusion of what you heard: love one another.
12 Not like Cain, who was twisted by evil and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because his own deeds were evil and his brothers deeds were good. (In Cain, evil found a vehicle through which it could express itself in harmfull deeds, and by its very nature it opposed anything that was of God, anything good)

13 Don’t be surprised my brothers, if the world hates you.
14 We know that we have moved from the nothingness of death to the reality of life, because we love those who came from the same womb. To love is to live, to not love is to die.
15 To hate a brother is part of the process of murder, and we know that eternal life and murder has nothing in common.
16 By this we have come to understand the love of our Father, in that He has laid down His life for us. Understanding the logic of His love is what inspires us to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
17 Whoever has natural resources – this world’s goods – and sees a brother facing a need, but hardens himself not allowing himself to show compassion by helping out, how does the love of God dwell in him? 18 My precious ones, don’t limit this love to thoughts and words alone, let it out – allow your actions to uncover the reality of love. 19 You will find such affirmation in your actions, confirming the truth that your hearts embrace, and bringing an awareness of His presence.
20 Even if your heart condemns you, and you have thoughts of blame and finding fault, God is greater and wiser than your heart and knows all things.
21 Beloved, once we come to a place where our inner thoughts have no trace of fault finding, where our hearts are simply aware of our blameless innocence, then our relationship with God will find a new boldness – relationship without inhibitions!
