He is speaking … are you listening…
Morning by morning he awakens me; he awakens my ear to hear as those who are taught. The Lord God has opened my ear…Isa 50:4

He is speaking consistently – morning by morning – and He has given you the ability to hear Him.

He has so much to offer – real fulfilment and satisfaction – but what price does He place on this offer; what does He want from us?

Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently ( pay attention ) to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food.
Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant, my steadfast, sure love…
“ Isa 55:1-3

The opportunity to hear Him is ever present, and the result of hearing Him is rest – a rest of satisfaction.

God keeps renewing the promise and setting the date as today, just as he did in David’s psalm, centuries later than the original invitation: Today, please listen, don’t turn a deaf ear . . .
And so this is still a live promise. It wasn’t cancelled … otherwise, God wouldn’t keep renewing the appointment for “today.”
The promise of “arrival” and “rest” is still there for God’s people
…Heb 4

So, friends, we can now–without hesitation–walk right up to God, into “the Holy Place.” Jesus has cleared the way by the blood of his sacrifice, acting as our priest before God. The “curtain” into God’s presence is his body.
So let’s do it–full of belief, confident that we’re presentable inside and out.
Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word.
Let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day approaching
